Over the past few years, our firm has become involved with a wonderful local pediatric cancer support organization called the 1Voice Foundation and Academy. They run the only accredited school in the US for children with cancer. We sponsor and attend the annual Northwestern Mutual Lemon Drop the Mic singer songwriters concert each year. However, in 2025 the event was cancelled due to the hurricanes that year. The aftermath of the storms left the 1Voice Foundation and school in immediate need of our assistance.
Our entire team spent an entire day volunteering at the school campus, cleaning up large limbs and debris from fallen trees. Through this work, we learned of an additional opportunity to assist the organization by helping them set up an endowment fund so that others could donate stocks to 1Voice. Our efforts to support our local cancer families via our involvement with 1Voice is a continued passion of our entire team.
Learn MoreIn recent years, the team has become very active in supporting the St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital and Foundation. Rebecca is a board member and Jessica is on the Young Professionals Committee. They support and sponsor a number of events including the annual Women’s Fashion Show and the Christmas in July Toy Drive.
Christmas in July is a month-long community-wide fundraiser to help raise funds for activities, experiences, and toys for St. Joe's kids. Every year, corporations, civic organizations, and individuals help bring some mid-year cheer to the kids that need it most. Bast Financial Group is honored and inspired to support such a great organization and provide a positive impact on the children that need it most.
Bast Financial Group is also committed to supporting The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). Rebecca’s daughter Callie was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes a few years ago. Therefore this cause has become a deeply personal one. Each year the team participates in the JDRF One Walk - a community celebration for those living with type 1 diabetes (T1D). It's where dedicated families, friends and companies raise money to improve the lives of those living with T1D, until it is no longer a threat. More than ever, the JDRF One Walk isn't just about walking — it's about being a community and a commitment to finding cures for T1D.
The JDRF One Walk is the largest T1D event in the world, raising more than $1 billion for T1D research. As the leading global organization funding T1D research, JDRF's mission is to accelerate life-changing breakthroughs to cure, prevent and treat T1D and its complications.
